Unemployment rates in northern Missouri currently range from three to five percent. Missouri’s not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February is four percent, which is slightly higher than the 3.8 percent recorded in January 2024 and the 3.3 percent reported in February 2023.

Grundy County’s latest unemployment rate stands at 4.5 percent, based on 183 individuals claiming unemployment benefits out of a civilian labor force exceeding four thousand.

Counties in the area with unemployment rates between three and four percent include Gentry, Livingston, DeKalb, Chariton, Caldwell, Daviess, Mercer, Worth, and Clinton. Those with rates from four to five percent are Carroll, Adair, Harrison, Macon, Putnam, Sullivan, and Linn.
