The Chillicothe High School Players present “The Big Town Where We Live: A Salute to Chillicothe” this weekend.

The play will be performed at the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center of Chillicothe Saturday night at 7 o’clock and Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Communication Arts teacher Lisa Rule wrote and directed the play. She says it began as a local history assembly for Chillicothe High School students and grew into a play.

The production covers the history of the area beginning before Chillicothe was a city, goes back to the Native Americans, and continues forward to World War Two. The play will use multi-media to provide a full effect. Some characters will be real, and others will be fictional.

There will also be a variety of images presented to the audience to help provide the full sensory experience.  Rule says “The Big Town Where We Live” includes high school students and involves displays from Steam students in the lobby.

Tickets cost $5 and Chillicothe Area Arts Council season ticket holders will be admitted for free with their ticket.
