Chillicothe Arts Council announces performances for 2016-17 season

The schedule has been released for nine performances during the Chillicothe Arts Council 2016-17 season. As usual, the arts council promotes free admission to Chautauqua in the Park September 10th and 11th in Chillicothe.

The first performance of the coming season is the Paul Martin family circus September 18th; Tim Whitmer Quartet on October 2nd; Mac King Comedy and Magic on October 23rd; the Elders music group November 6th; and Chillicothe High School players present Charles Dickens Christmas Carol December 8th, 10th, and 11th.

Turning the calendar to 2017, Missoula Children’s Theatre presents “Peter and Wendy” twice on Saturday January 14th; the Montana Repertory Theatre presents the Neil Simon play “barefoot in the park” February 12th; a variety show featuring local talent is February 26th and the arts council schedule concludes its season April 2nd with the St. Louis brass ensemble. All these events are held in the Gary Dickinson performing arts center.

Season tickets also are on sale for the Chillicothe Area Arts Council. Prices are as low as 30 dollars for a student; 60 dollars for a senior citizen; 65 dollars for a single membership. Business and corporate memberships also are available. The arts office is at the Chillicothe chamber of commerce on Washington Street.

As before, an arts council season pass does not cover the bluegrass festival at Chillicothe’s Litton Agri-Ccampus from June 17th to the 19th.
