Management and recovery of drought will be discussed during the Beef Producers Seminar in Stanberry during the month of November.
Registration begins at the Parish Hall of the Saint Peter Catholic Church on the evening of November 8th at 5 o’clock with the seminar beginning at 6:30.
State Extension Beef Nutritionist Eric Bailey will talk about feeding and management concerns, opportunities for corn silage and corn baleage harvested this past year, and feeding strategies moving forward.
Extension Beef and Dairy Veterinarian Scott Poock will discuss getting cows and heifers to breed and rebreed after the drought, maintaining body condition score on breeding-age females, and how to best manage open cows.
Field Specialist in Agronomy Wayne Flanary will speak on management, recovery, and looking towards 2019 regarding pastures and hay ground.
Area cattleman’s organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and beef cattle industry representatives will have booths that attendees can visit. Admission to the Beef Producer Seminar costs $25 per person, which includes a beef dinner.
Companies and individuals wishing to display products and information, the cost per booth is $75, which includes a beef dinner for one attendee. Pre-registration is due by November 5th.
