Several area libraries have received technology mini-grants from the Missouri Secretary of State’s office.

The Grundy County Jewett-Norris Library of Trenton received a $2,500 grant to replace cabling and a network switch at the end of their life to ensure technology-based library services are reliable, efficient, and secure.

The Daviess County Library of Gallatin was awarded a grant for $9,238 to replace five tablets, two desktop computers, two laptop computers, and eight headsets that are outdated and no longer supported by the vendor. The library will also add one desktop computer, 12 laptop computers, and 12 headsets.

The Cameron Public Library received $4,344 in funding to replace an outdated multifunction printer and two staff computers that are near obsolescence.

The Missouri Secretary of State’s Office offers the technology mini-grants through the use of federal Library Services and Technology Act funds. The grants are based on LSTA priorities and Missouri State Library goals as approved in the LSTA five-year and state fiscal year project plans.
