A total of 59 Missouri and Iowa High Schools will be represented when the 15th annual High School Holiday Hoops tips off this weekend on the campus of North Central Missouri College in Trenton. Sponsored by the North Central Missouri College Foundation, Inc. this is a nine-day event with all games played on the College campus. A total of 68 games are scheduled with 101 teams expected to participate.
Games begin on Saturday, December 14th and resume on December 19-20-21 and then return to action on December 23rd. The event will conclude on December 27-28 and finally, December 30-31. Should games be canceled due to weather or other circumstances, those games will not be made up.
Admission to attend a day of games is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students and senior citizens.
Steve Maxey, Hoops Director says the schedule is a tentative schedule subject to change due to circumstances beyond control.
Considered to be the largest high school holiday basketball shoot-out in the state, Maxey says the event has grown from only 12 teams in 2004 to over 100 varsity basketball teams for the 15th annual showcase.
