Trenton’s Building and Nuisance Board last evening took action on numerous properties of concern, advancing them to the next level as the process continues to have owners fix up, clean up structures in Trenton.

Five locations were advanced to public hearings next month. One location at 910 Olive, declared a nuisance last month, was abated as work has been completed. Advancing from nuisance to public hearings are 302 East 7th Street, 305 East 10th Street, 400 Washington, 701 East 6th Street, and 725 West 17th Street. Elizabeth Zuptich discussed a house her family has at 302 East 7th.

Lakeview Inn at 3307 East 10th Street advances from public hearing to findings of fact. Building Inspector Donnie Vandevender reported cleanup work is progressing but concerns remain for the surface of where the motel was that burned in May.

Also moving to findings of fact is 1307 Harris Avenue owned and occupied by Ty Bush who attended the meeting last evening to explain he’s doing what he can. Serve Trenton volunteers have painted the house. Vandevender said it also needs the roof replaced. A third location advancing to findings of fact is 1109 East 24th Street.

Three addresses were moved to a certificate of existence of a dangerous building. These are 416 West 13th Court, 1323 Tindall Avenue, and 1103 East 17th Street.

Given 30 day extensions because work underway is 817 East 19th Street and 1116 East 23rd Street. Four other locations in Trenton were declared a nuisance by building board members last evening. They are 501 Jackson, 511 East 9th Street, 923 Custer, and 1909 Carnes. An advisory letter is to be sent to the owner of 1001 Custer.
