Trenton Resident Maggie Bush has been recognized for her military service during the Vietnam War.

Mrs. Bush was among 21 women honored Wednesday during ceremonies held at the VA Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.

On the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, the Kansas Veterans Administration Health Care System recognized women who served during those years.

Organizers called it the first “Women Veterans Of Vietnam Era Recognition Event” – highlighting each for their service. They received a certificate and a pin.

Maggie Bush was an editor of the Marines newspaper covering the war.

Locally, the Dorcas Richardson Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution this week has recognized Vietnam Era veterans for their service through a message that KTTN-FM has been airing.
