A three-vehicle accident on slush-covered Interstate 35, south of Pattonsburg, resulted in injuries to one of the drivers late on Saturday night.

Twenty-five year old Ross Taggert of Overland Park, Kansas was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center.  The Highway Patrol said Taggert had moderate injuries.

The other two drivers were not reported hurt.

The accident was two miles south of Pattonsburg on southbound I-35.  Taggert was driving a car that went out of control on the slush-covered road, hit the right bridge wall, returned to the road, and was struck by a tractor-trailer unit driven by 54-year old Robert Lent of Columbia.

Taggert’s car then hit the left bridge wall before being struck by a pickup truck driven by 23-year old Clay Nordsiek of Arenzville, Illinois.

The Patrol said the Taggert car was demolished.  The pickup was extensively damaged, and the tractor-trailer unit had minor damage.
