Two injured in crash near King City; driver arrested

Two people were hurt northwest of Weatherby when a car went off a road and hit a ditch and the driver was arrested.

The driver, 33-year old Brian Stevenson of King City, was transported by a highway patrolman to Cameron Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

A passenger in the car involved in the accident, 29-year old Alberta Wolfenbarger of Wathena, Kansas, was transported by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

The accident happened late Friday night five miles northwest of Weatherby in DeKalb County when the driver was southbound on Route D, lost control, and the vehicle went off the right side of the road and hit a ditch.

Both occupants were wearing seatbelts and the car was extensively damaged.

The patrol accused Stephenson of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated/drugs, no valid operator’s license, careless and imprudent driving/involved in an accident, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
