The Trenton Park Board discussed a storage building that Trenton High School, North Central Missouri College, AA, and AAA baseball could use.

Vice President Josh Lisle and board member Curtis Crawford said they would get together to determine the size and location of the building and talk to the board about it in the future.

Trenton Family Aquatic Center Manager Alexis Whitney said planning needs to begin for the pool’s opening.

Superintendent Jason Shuler said the diving boards were sand blasted to clean off old paint and repainted and the sound system still needs to be worked on.

Member Linda Linch said she would ask other cities about prices at their pools to determine this year’s prices at Trenton’s pool.

A pool committee meeting will be held before the next Park Board meeting to discuss prices and improvements and President Duane Helmandollar reported the budget will be ready by the next board meeting.

Helmandollar said park upgrades have been done, including building upgrades, replacing swingsets, and cleaning up the parks in general.

Superintendent Shuler said he wants to apply for the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance (TRIM) Grant.

The board only received one bid for container trees and none of the bare root trees but Shuler said he may purchase the bare root trees. No action was taken on the tree bids.

Most of the trees planned to be removed in Moberly Park have been removed as the trees needed to come down before they became dangerous to the public.

The board also received a report on the shop building addition, equipment maintenance on an ATV and two mowers, ball field maintenance, dumping trash cans three times a week, cleaning the Rock Barn and upper Moberly Shelter House, and handling payments and keys for the Rock Barn and Shelter House rentals.

The Missouri Parks and Recreation Association annual conference will be in Branson Monday through Friday next week.

Shuler reports he will also attend pool operator training and certification March 16 and 17 in Kansas City.
