Teen hospitalized after ATV culvert jump goes wrong in Center

A 17-year-old from Center, Missouri, was injured in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident Sunday evening, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Northeast Street, just south of Highway 19.

The teenager was attempting to jump a culvert on a 2007 Arctic Cat ATV when he was ejected from the vehicle. Authorities reported that the young man was not wearing any safety equipment at the time of the accident. Following the accident, he was transported by Ralls County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.

The ATV sustained no damage and was driven from the scene.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Ralls County Sheriff’s Department and Center First Responders in dealing with the incident.
