Chillicothe Police report the arrest of a man who allegedly fled from officers on Tuesday.

Police responded to the intersection of Calhoun and Cherry Street for a report of a white male with an active Parole Warrant. Officers located the male and attempted to contact him.

The suspect fled on foot and officers gave chase, later arresting the suspect in the 1100 block of Webster. Andrew Crosby McCollum of Chillicothe was taken into custody on the Parole Warrant. His original charge involved felony possession of a controlled substance. McCollum was sentenced in January of 2019 year to serve a term with the Department of Corrections.

As a result of the Tuesday arrest, Chillicothe police plan to pursue charges on McCollum for allegedly resisting arrest, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with evidence.
