A Kirksville man sustained moderate injuries as the result of his vehicle traveling off the road 10 miles southwest of Kirksville last night.
The Highway Patrol reports 54-year-old Thomas Ireland traveled north on Gifford Trail near Route N when his pickup truck went off the road and came to a rest in the basement of an abandoned house, totaling the vehicle.
The Air Evac Lifeteam transported Ireland to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
The Patrol reports it is unknown if Ireland wore a seat belt at the time of the accident.
