Highway J accident results in serious injuries for truck driver

An accident was reported on Highway J, approximately 4 miles south of Wilmathsville, Missouri. The crash, which occurred at around 11:40 a.m., on Wednesday, March 6,  involved a 1998 Freightliner FLD112 driven by Talmon R. Martin, 51, of Memphis, Missouri. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the freight truck was heading north when it veered off the right side of the road and overturned.

The driver, Martin, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, however, he still sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Northeast Regional Medical Center by Adair County Ambulance for treatment. Initial reports indicate that the vehicle simply traveled off the roadway and overturned, leading to significant damage to the truck. It was subsequently towed by Lakeside Towing.

Emergency response teams, including the Adair County Sheriff’s Department, Kirksville Fire Department, and Adair County Ambulance District, were quickly on the scene to assist with the accident.
