The Grundy R-5 girls, for the second consecutive season, are in a district semifinal contest, set to battle the Linn County Lady Mustangs Tuesday night at 7:30 at Green City High School. The winner moves into the Class 1, District 12 championship game on Friday night at 6:00. Over the past week, the Lady Panthers have had a roller coaster ride, winning against Tri-County, falling to Pattonsburg, and then coming back less than 24 hours later to down Green City in a Saturday afternoon district quarterfinal. The season is over for the Grundy R-5 boys, who lost a first-round game to #2 seed Novinger on Saturday afternoon.
