Brunswick Community Choir and live eagles to be featured at Swan Lake First Friday program

The Brunswick Community Choir, as well as a Live Bald Eagles Program, will be featured at the next First Fridays at the Refuge at Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge south of Sumner.

Activities the night of July 7th will run from 5 o’clock to 8:30.

The Brunswick Community Choir will perform patriotic songs at the amphitheater from 5:45 to 6:15 and the Dickerson Park Zoo will provide live bald eagles for a chance to see the birds up close at 6:30.

Other activities will include archery, prairie grass mazes, a turtle tank, a stream box, and a duck identification station.

There will also be a Kids Outdoor Olympic Challenge for children to visit different locations in the refuge and find a decoy to positively identify to earn points.

The Brunswick and Mendon Lions Club, in partnership with the Friends of Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge, will serve a free hotdog dinner with chips and drinks.

The observation tower will be open for tours, and the overlook, visitor center, and gift shop will also be open.
