Sunnyview Nursing Home and Apartments Administrator Donita Youtsey says updates for the nursing home’s boiler is a work in progress.
She explains that there will be an energy efficiency evaluation of the building in hopes that something more efficient can be put into the nursing home for the residents.
Currently, either the boiler or air conditioning can be on, and there is no in between and Youtsey describes it as a comfort-level issue for some of the residents in the older part of the building.
She and the Grundy County Nursing Home District Board of Directors hope to install individual units in the residents’ rooms, so they can be more comfortable.
She notes that the boiler is original to the building, and it has basically lived out its life.
Youtsey says the Board of Directors will meet with efficiency experts at the nursing home in Trenton Wednesday afternoon, June 28 at 4 o’clock.
