A former prison guard at the Chillicothe women’s prison has been accused once again of sexual assault.

The accused worked as a guard between 2008 to 2018, at the 1,600 person facility and is accused for the fifth time of assaulting an inmate, according to Kansas City station KCTV. The Department of Corrections has not responded for comment. So far, no criminal charges have been filed.

The woman filed a lawsuit in the U.S. Court for the Western District of Missouri against Edward Bearden, a former guard at Chillicothe Correctional Center.  Five separate civil cases have been lodged against him, but no criminal charges have been filed.

The FBI and the Department of Justice have been conducting an investigation of Chillicothe Correctional Center where Bearden and other corrections officers were accused of dozens of assaults, rape, and harassment. As many as nine women have also reportedly alleged misconduct by a mental health counselor at the prison.
