The Cara McClellan Insurance Agency announced the establishment of the Cara McClellan Agency, LLC – American Family Insurance Scholarship for a graduating senior at Trenton High School.

The scholarship to be awarded annually will be presented for the first time in the spring, 2017 in the amount of $500.00 and will be presented to a graduate who excels in both school and community activities and maintains a 3.00 GPA or better. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books or fees and can be used at the school of the applicant’s choice – either a college, university or trade school.

Cara Ricketts McClellan is a 2007 graduate of Trenton High School and a graduate of North Central Missouri College. “Choosing to give back” was the reasoning for Mrs. McClellan to create such a scholarship and she says “recognizing the importance of assisting graduating seniors in fulfilling their dreams is important to her. At American Family Insurance, we believe that every dream – and dreamer – deserves support and I want to extend that same kind of support that was given to me by a donor as a high school graduate pursuing my dreams.”

The scholarship funds have been invested through the Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri and Foundation Marketing Director Steve Maxey encourages others to follow the commitment made by Cara McClellan. “We are honored to be the administrator of the Cara McClellan Scholarship Fund and look forward to fulfilling her wishes and making dreams come to fruition for THS seniors for years to come. We encourage others to join us in offering scholarships and other fund management through the Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri.”

Applications will be available in the spring at Trenton High School or through the Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri.
