Car pursued by Putnam County Sheriff’s department crashes

A car pursued by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department overturned south of Unionville Saturday night.

The driver of the car, 26-year-old Christopher Sears of Unionville, was transported to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville with moderate injuries after being thrown from the vehicle.

The accident happened one mile south of Unionville on private property south of Black Jack Trail when the car entered a field, overturned, and came to rest on its top demolishing the vehicle.

Sears was accused of driving while intoxicated-drugs, driving while revoked, and felony possession of a controlled substance.
