8-year-old boy thrown from dirt bike, life-flighted to Children’s Mercy

A boy from Stanberry was injured Sunday when a dirt bike he was riding struck a fence, throwing him off the machine.

The highway patrol listed injuries as serious for eight-year-old John Graham of Stanberry.

The report said the boy was taken by emergency services to the ambulance barn then flown by medical helicopter to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kanas City.

The accident report said it happened just after 5 o’clock Sunday in the yard of a private residence along 440th Road, two miles north of Stanberry.
