Eagleville boy thrown from motorcycle in Saturday crash

An Eagleville boy was hurt when the motorcycle he was operating hit the rear of an all-terrain vehicle then overturned, throwing the boy from the motorcycle.

14-year old Avery Cook of Eagleville was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany with moderate injuries.

The accident happened Saturday night two miles east of Eagleville on Harrison County Road 175 as the motorcycle and the ATV were westbound when the ATV came to a stop on the right shoulder. The motorcycle hit a passenger side rear tire on the ATV causing the motorcycle to go off the right side of the road and overturn, throwing Avery Cook off the motorcycle.

The operator of the ATV, 18-year old Trey Diawara of Osceola, Iowa, was not reported hurt.

Cook was wearing a safety device however Diawara was not.
