Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton was damaged by a tornado last year. The current building is expected to be demolished, and a smaller church building is planned to be put in its place.
Trenton Mayor Jackie Soptic says it is a fact of life that sometimes you lose things. The Wesley United Methodist Church congregation has worked “tirelessly” to look at all of its options, deal with its denomination and insurance, and come to the conclusion that is best for the congregation and the building.
They are trying to keep as much of the structure of Wesley United Methodist Church that has historical significance, within the reason of what the church can afford.
