After a series of meetings, the finance committee to the Trenton City Council has completed work on the next fiscal year budgets for both the city of Trenton and for the municipal utility.

Finance committee members Wednesday evening voted to recommend approval of the budgets during the next meeting of the Trenton City Council Monday, March 13.

The budgets are to be presented in the form of city ordinances which would be voted upon by the entire council.

City Clerk Cindy Simpson told KTTN that both budgets are balanced for the 2017-18 fiscal year without the use of reserve funds.

The fiscal year for the city, Trenton Municipal Utilities and the parks department begins the first of May.
