A free breakfast for volunteers will take place at the North 65 Center in Trenton, Grundy County, on April 23 at 7:30 a.m. The event, named Thanksfast, is an extension of the breakfast series initiated last year by Trenton Mayor Jackie Soptic. Scheduled during National Volunteer Week, Thanksfast aims to celebrate local volunteers.

Mayor Soptic reported that the deadline for reservations, which was on April 15, saw a strong turnout with 89 people confirming their attendance. She expressed her appreciation for the community’s enthusiasm and engagement.

In collaboration with the senior center and the Green Hills Volunteers group, Mayor Soptic helped orchestrate the event. Financial support was provided by three local banks: Southern Bank, BTC Bank, and Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri, demonstrating a community-wide effort to recognize the contributions of volunteers.

Mayor Soptic highlighted the significant impact of volunteer efforts in Trenton, describing the daily commitment of volunteers as “amazing.”
