Polo woman injured in two-car crash on Highway 116

The Highway Patrol reports a Polo woman sustained minor injuries when a vehicle traveled into the path of the vehicle she drove two miles east of Lathrop the morning of December 17th.

Emergency medical services transported 52-year-old Michelle Stanley to the North Kansas City Hospital. No injuries were reported for the other driver, 26-year-old Michael Crookshank of Smithville.

Crookshank drove east on Highway 116, and Stanley traveled west before Crookshank’s vehicle allegedly attempted to pass another eastbound vehicle and traveled into the path of Stanley’s. Crookshank’s vehicle came to rest blocking the road and had extensive damage. Stanley’s vehicle came to rest on the north side of the road, totaled.

The Patrol notes both drivers wore safety devices.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department assisted.
