The Highway Patrol arrested Francisco Elias-Chavez, 67, from Milan, on Thursday morning, April 11, in Sullivan County on charges of first-degree child molestation. He is currently held at the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail.
A $100,000 cash-only bond was set for Elias-Chavez, who is scheduled for a court appearance on April 12.
A probable cause statement indicates that homeowners in Milan had employed Elias-Chavez for remodeling and construction work at two of their properties. It is alleged that he had sexual contact with a female child related to the homeowners on at least three occasions between September 2023 and April 2024.
