The July Mayor’s Coffee will be held earlier than normal and is scheduled for Wednesday, July 6 beginning at 10 a.m.
A rather different and unique program will take place at the new Fire Training Center at 1301 Green Street, five blocks west of Washington Street (U.S. 65) in the southwest part of the city.
The fire department plans to show off its new live LPG (liquid propane gas) propane with a live fire evolution. The department personnel will also demonstrate some high angle rescue technics using the training tower, High angle rescue is completed using ropes.
Darrell Wright, Fire Chief, and director of Emergency Management, also will discuss the department’s fundraiser with HMC and the possibility of a future fire station in the North part of Chillicothe.
Mayor Haney said this will be a very interest program and change of the programs over years by having the firefighters perform and demonstrate what they have learned through training and the advantage of having the new fire training center here.
The two companies who donated the propane gas training prop have also been invited to have their representatives present.
Refreshments will be available and there will be time for questions following the two programs.
