The Highway Patrol reports a Lena, Louisiana man sustained minor injuries as the result of a Kenworth truck running off the road about one mile north of Pattonsburg on Tuesday morning.

An ambulance transported the truck driver, 53-year-old Troy Holt, to the Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany. The driver of a pickup truck, 44-year-old Johnathan Peterson of Indianola, Iowa, was reported as not injured.

Holt’s truck traveled north on Interstate 35 before traveling into the median, striking an embankment, becoming airborne, and traveling into a southbound lane. The truck struck the towed unit of Peterson’s southbound pickup and traveled off the west side of the road. The pickup came to a controlled stop on the shoulder with minor damage, and Holt’s truck came to rest on the west side of I-35 with extensive damage.

Both drivers wore seat belts, and the NTA Ambulance assisted at the scene of the crash.
