A power outage affected hundreds of customers of Trenton Municipal Utilities early Thursday morning, April 18, 2024.

TMU Director Ron Urton indicated that a likely lightning strike triggered a breaker at the electric plant substation. The power failure occurred at 3:45 a.m. and electricity was restored just over an hour later.

According to Urton, approximately 900 customers in the southwest part of Trenton, including the downtown area, were impacted by the outage. The disruption also affected our radio station at 804 Main, causing silence across our three stations: KTTN-FM, KTTN-AM, and KGOZ-FM.
