The Grand River Valley Choir and Orchestra will begin rehearsals soon for its summer concert.

Board President Monica Fawson of Gallatin says the rehearsals begin at Hodge Presbyterian Church of Trenton April 17th with registration at 6 o’clock. She notes rehearsals after the first night will be every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 until the summer concert. Fawson encourages individuals to come and try out the choir for a few weeks if they are not sure if they want to join or not.

Orchestra Director Buddy Hannaford of Trenton explains auditions for the orchestra include hearing all of the wind section. He says the orchestra is in need of an oboe player as well as violinists.

Fawson says there is no audition process for the choir and tells that women and men singing soprano, alto, tenor, and bass are needed.

The Summer concert will be held at the First Baptist Church of Trenton the night of June 16th at 7 o’clock.
