The Galt Board of Aldermen on April 15 set a special meeting to review permit submittal plans for the city’s water project. The meeting is scheduled for April 29 at 6 p.m. The meeting was requested by Josh Stewart of Benton and Associates.

Stewart plans to conduct infield verification for the lead service line inventory in May or June. City Clerk Mercedes Scobee and Stewart will collaborate to notify the public.

The citywide cleanup in Galt is scheduled for May 4 from 8 a.m. to noon. Updated restrictions have been announced. The list of restricted items includes tires, yard waste, large major appliances, bulk liquids, and lead-acid batteries. Building debris is permitted, provided it measures no more than six feet in length and width.

Lewis Berry and Jay Blackburn were sworn in for additional two-year terms as aldermen at large.
