The stories of Daisy Coleman and Audrie Pott, after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in January, are coming to Netflix, with the company releasing a trailer for a documentary called “Audrie and Daisy”.
Daisy Coleman is the Maryville woman who, as a teenager in 2012 was sexually assaulted, with the aftermath of the assault, including online bullying, receiving a large amount of national coverage. Audrie Pott was a native of the Silicon Valley in California who committed suicide just 8 days after she was assaulted at a party that involved underage drinking, with photos of her surfacing online soon thereafter.
Husband-and-wife team Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk are the directors for “Audrie and Daisy”. The film will trace the events of both cases, through use of interview, social media, court documents, and police investigations. The documentary will be available Friday, September 23rd on Netflix.
