The Milan C-2 School District reported enrollment numbers on the first day of classes showing 642 students. That represents in increase, by 20, in the number of students when compared with Opening Day 2015.
For Milan, the elementary grades have 234 students (a decline of 10 from last year’s total of 244), however the middle school is up 17 students to 192, while Milan High School boasts 216 students, an increase of 13.
Classes also began Tuesday in the Newtown-Harris School District with 84 students in the kindergarten through the senior (12th grade) class. That number is down by one student from the 2015 Opening Day total at Newtown-Harris.
