Following the execution of a search warrant in the 400 block of Jackson Street on Saturday, the Chillicothe Police recovered what officers called significant quantities of stolen property and controlled substances, including methamphetamine, and multiple firearms.

Chief Jon Maples described the discovery as a significant step in the police department’s ongoing efforts to combat illicit drug activities within the community. He noted the search warrant was in response to an ongoing theft and drug investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and Maples said further details will be released as they become available. He encouraged anyone with information about criminal activities to come forward and assist the police.

The police chief added that charges are being sought for the occupants of the residence who were not present at the time (5:32 p.m. Saturday) the search was executed. Charges being sought include possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, and unlawful use of a firearm.
