Cameron teen falls asleep, crashes into rear of big rig

A Cameron teenager was injured yesterday when his vehicle struck the rear of a tractor trailer one mile north of Easton in Buchanan County. The Highway Patrol listed 18-year-old Dakota Morris with minor injuries. 

The Highway Patrol listed 18-year-old Dakota Morris with minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Mosaic Life Care of St. Joseph.

Morris was eastbound on Highway 36 when he reportedly fell asleep; then attempted to avoid striking a tractor trailer, but over-corrected causing the vehicle to rotate and have the left side strike the rear of the trailer.

Damage was moderate for the Morris vehicle. He was using a seat belt.
