Two individuals have been charged in Harrison County in connection with an alleged armed robbery that took place in July of 2023.

Online court records reveal that 40-year-old Richard Michael Romero of Independence and 36-year-old Crystle Joan Aniela Wilson of Belton are each facing charges of felony first-degree robbery. Romero’s bond was set at $150,000 cash only, while Wilson’s bond was set at $90,000 cash only.

A probable cause affidavit indicates that eight firearms, ammunition, and silver coins were stolen during the robbery at a rural residence in Bethany. It is reported that a safe was looted as well.

Another probable cause affidavit accuses Romero of threatening to kill a victim during the robbery. It also states that another suspect, 45-year-old William Ross IV of Chillicothe, took Romero’s gun and declared that if anyone was going to die, it would be Romero. Ross and Romero are then alleged to have taken the firearms, coins, and ammunition while an unidentified suspect restrained the victims with zip ties.

Wilson was positioned outside during the robbery, where she allegedly gathered tools and loaded them into a truck.

Ross was charged with felony stealing of $25,000 or more. He was sentenced in January to 10 years in the Department of Corrections and is required to pay court costs. He received credit for having already served 20 days.
