A 23-year-old man from Trenton sustained moderate injuries in a mini-bike crash that occurred on the afternoon of March 28, 2024. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident happened at approximately 4:10 p.m. on SE 8th Avenue, just a quarter mile south of Iowa Boulevard.
According to the crash report, IzeK M Cockriel-Barnes was riding a mini-bike southbound when he lost control of the vehicle. The mini-bike overturned, ejecting Cockriel-Barnes onto the roadway. The mini-bike came to rest on its left side, facing south.
Cockriel-Barnes was not wearing any safety equipment at the time of the accident. He was transported by a private vehicle to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton for the treatment of his injuries. The mini-bike sustained minor damage and was towed from the scene by a private individual.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Department and the Trenton Police Department assisted at the scene of the crash.
