Trenton man falls asleep at the wheel in Chillicothe

Officers with the Chillicothe Police Department responded to two accidents on Thursday.

Officers responded to the 1300 block of North Washington where they discovered a vehicle had struck a utility pole.  A 2010 Ford was being driven southbound by Dominic Wilmes of Trenton, when he fell asleep at the wheel, drove off the west side of the roadway, striking the pole.

Wilmes complained of injury and was transported to Hedrick Medical center for treatment. His vehicle was towed from the scene.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in the 1000 block of South Washington.  A 2006 Cadillac driven by Claude Eckert was northbound when a southbound pickup driven by Brad Sackrey attempted to turn left into a business striking the Cadillac.

No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
