The Trenton Downtown Improvement Association welcomed a new executive director at its annual membership meeting Tuesday evening.

Megan Derry of Trenton will begin her part-time duties February 11th and will work out of an office on the first floor of the Grundy County Courthouse in Trenton. She will be responsible for the day-to-day management of TDIA activities to improve and promote businesses in downtown Trenton. Derry will also lead Trenton’s participation in the Missouri Main Street Connection program.

The TDIA also elected officers at the meeting including Phil Hoffman, Doctor Lenny Klaver, Sarah Maloney, and Bonita Price were reelected to the organization’s governing board.

Members also voted to expand the board from nine to 11 members with downtown business owners Sena Arnold and Mike Baugher were elected to the board. Each will serve a two-year term.  Other board members are Dave Bain, Linda Crooks, Jackie Hoffman, Wendell Lenhart, and Cathie Smith.

Trenton Downtown Improvement Association membership is open to any business, organization, or individual interested in improving and redeveloping Trenton’s downtown business district.  The full membership meets at least once each year to elect representatives to the governing board, review proposed changes to the organization’s by-laws, and consider other business.

The TDIA board meets regularly to consider loan applications to Trenton business or commercial business owners and conduct business on behalf of the membership.
