The Highway Patrol reports two Jamesport residents sustained injuries when a sports utility vehicle lost control on ice and ran off the road five miles south of Jamesport Wednesday morning.

An air ambulance transported passenger 11-year-old Ivan Miller to Children’s Mercy Hospital with serious injuries and an ambulance transported the driver, 77-year-old Larry Raymo, to Wright Memorial Hospital with what the Patrol called minor injuries.

The SUV traveled north on 320th Street when it lost control and traveled off the west side of the road before striking a tree. The vehicle came to rest against the tree facing west and received moderate damage.

The Patrol reports Raymo did not wear a safety device while Miller did.
