Rear-end collision on Highway 63 results in injuries to Kirksville driver

On the morning of March 5th, 2024, a collision involving two northbound vehicles on Highway 63, approximately two miles south of Lancaster, Missouri, resulted in minor injuries for one of the drivers. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 11:30 a.m., involving a 1999 Kenworth W900B, driven by 33-year-old Drew A. Fountain of Kirksville, Missouri, and a 2018 Subaru Legacy, driven by 59-year-old Lenda S. Wachter, also of Kirksville, Missouri.

Reports indicate that the Kenworth truck struck the rear of the Subaru Legacy, leading to moderate damage to the truck and total damage to the Subaru. Both vehicles were subsequently towed from the scene by Lakeside Towing. The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.

Lenda S. Wachter sustained minor injuries in the crash and was transported by Schuyler County Ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment. Drew A. Fountain, the driver of the Kenworth, did not report any injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office and the Lancaster Fire Department.
