Milan, Newtown-Harris, Brookfield students excel at FFA event

Milan C-2 FFA achieved high rankings in three categories at the Northeast Missouri District Leadership Development Events held on Monday, March 25.

The FFA knowledge team from Milan secured second place, and the ag issues team finished third. Individually, Milan students Kendra Sayre and Jara Sanchez excelled in the FFA knowledge category, placing first and second, respectively. Jasmine Appledorn, also from Milan, topped the rankings among students reciting the FFA creed.

In other achievements, Newtown-Harris student Grant Oaks was awarded first place in the district for advanced prepared speaking, highlighting his exceptional oratory skills. Mikaela Rojas of Linn County claimed third place in this competitive category.

Representing Brookfield High School, Blayde Lindsay achieved second place with his rendition of the FFA creed. Similarly, Nessa Montgomery impressed the judges and secured second place with her employment skills.
