January unemployment rates are higher for several counties in this area.
Grundy County’s rate is 4.2 percent, based on 166 persons receiving unemployment out of a civilian labor force of 3,960. December’s jobless rate for Grundy County was 2.9 percent. January 2023 had a rate of 3.2 percent.
January rates in area counties range from 5.1 percent in Adair and 5 percent in both Sullivan and Linn counties to 3.3 percent in Livingston and Gentry counties.
Other counties and their unemployment rates include:
- Chariton at 3.5 percent;
- Mercer and Worth at 3.7 percent;
- DeKalb at 3.8 percent;
- Caldwell County at 3.9 percent;
- Clinton at 4 percent;
- Daviess and Carroll at 4.1 percent;
- Putnam at 4.2 percent;
- Harrison County at 4.4 percent.
Missouri’s not seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate is 3.8 percent, up from 3.2 percent in January 2023.
