Inmate at Crossroads Correctional Center serving 17-year murder sentence dies

At 1:17 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Alvin Muldrew, a resident confined at Crossroads Correctional Center with DOC No. 1380441, was pronounced dead at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Muldrew, 20, was serving a sentence of 17 years for second-degree murder, along with two additional sentences of 17 years each for first-degree attempted assault, all charges stemming from Jackson County. He was received by the Missouri Department of Corrections on December 5, 2022.

Officials have announced that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death
