Highway 139 sees multi-car crash near Meadville

A multi-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 139 near Meadville, Missouri, on the morning of March 27, 2024, resulting in a Meadville woman being injured. The incident happened at approximately 8:55 a.m. when the driver of the Buick LeSabre, identified as 22-year-old Candice T. Holzem of Wheeling, Missouri, veered across the center line and collided with both the Toyota and the Chevrolet. All drivers involved were utilizing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Margaret M. Hooper, a 33-year-old from Meadville, Missouri, driving the Chevrolet Cruze, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Hedrick Medical Center by private conveyance. The drivers of the Buick and Toyota, Candice T. Holzem and 54-year-old Nicolette F. Jeter of Wheeling, Missouri, respectively, reported no injuries at the scene.

The Buick and Chevrolet sustained moderate damage and required removal from the scene, with the Chevrolet being towed by Precision Auto. The Toyota 4Runner managed to be driven from the location, despite minor damage.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and Meadville Fire and Rescue.
