The United States Drug Enforcement Administration will hold a Drug Take Back Day April 28th.

Unused prescription drugs will be collected at various locations in the area that day from 10 o’clock in the morning to 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Missouri locations include the Grundy County Law Enforcement Center in Trenton, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office in Princeton, the Gallatin Police Department, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office in Kirksville, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office in Unionville, the Richmond Police Department, and the Stewartsville Police Department.

Iowa locations for disposing of unused prescription drugs include the Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office in Centerville and the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office in Mount Ayr.

Expired and unwanted medications may be disposed of at any time in the drugs depository box inside the foyer of the Grundy County Law Enforcement Center in Trenton.

Items accepted in the depository box include prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, samples, medications for pets, ointments, lotions, and liquid medications in glass or leak-proof containers.
