A Chillicothe woman has been charged in Livingston County following an investigation by the Chillicothe Police Department, which revealed alleged child neglect.

Twenty-two-year-old Cheyenne Dawn White faces two felony counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, creating substantial risk, and two felony counts of abuse or neglect of a child. Bond was set at $5,000, cash only, with no surety allowed. She is prohibited from contacting the alleged victims.

Chillicothe Police Captain Jeremiah Grider previously reported that officers were alerted by individuals on the 500 block of Saint Louis Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, March 27, regarding children who were neglected and abandoned. The investigation confirmed instances of abuse and neglect.  Chillicothe police officers and Livingston County deputies were able to locate the parent responsible for the children before a woman was arrested and taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

Court documents allege that White acted in a manner that created a substantial risk to the life, body, and health of two children under 17 years of age by placing them in a situation where they might suffer physical or mental harm. Additionally, she is accused of causing the children to endure physical and mental injury as a result of abuse, by leaving them with an individual known to exhibit physical violence towards the children.
