Audrey Baker, 102 years old from Milan, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Audrey was born on June 3, 1921, in Browning, Missouri, to her parents, Mac and Pearl Montgomery. She was a lifelong resident of Milan and the rural areas of Sullivan and Linn Counties. On February 1, 1939, she married her loving (late) husband of 44 years, Leland Swearengen, in Linneus, Missouri. Later in life, Audrey married Orville Baker, and the two shared many happy times during retirement.
Audrey is survived by two sons, Jerry and his wife Judy Swearengen of Milan, and Larry and his wife Rosemary Swearengen of Milan; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; four great-great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Leland; second husband, Orville; granddaughter, Debbie Swearengen-Fordyce; sisters, Gladys Maggart and Winona Montgomery; and brothers, Leon Montgomery and Fred Montgomery.
A graveside service for Audrey will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Oak Grove Cemetery, east of Milan. Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Milan is handling the arrangements.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Oak Grove Cemetery.
